Program Description

Event Details

In 1999, while monitoring for road and water main improvements, archaeologists discovered portions of the Second Fort Crawford (circa 1829 to 1856) intact in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin.  Portions of seven rooms, five in the eastern Enlisted Men's Quarters, and two in the southern Officers' Quarters, were discovered.  This talk will highlight some of the artifacts discovered, and what research was undertaken to help interpret what was found.
