Aurora Institute for the Arts is an Appleton-based program that allows young children to try a variety of different musical instruments. This hands-on exploration gives young children an opportunity to start making music.

Baird Creek Explorer Fridays. Bring your little ones to learn about nature during our one hour programs led by Baird Creek Preservation Foundation education staff. The programs will include crafts, a sensory station and movement activities.

Reading is more fun with friends- and this summer you can read to a furry friend!  Find Pearl, a certified service Golden Retriever and her handler, Kelly, in the Children's Area on Friday mornings.

Start off the summer with a special storytime with the loveable and sometimes stubborn pigeon that readers of all ages can relate to. Enjoy stories about the pigeon's antics, a build-your-own hotdog craft, and a visit from the pigeon himself.

Enjoy a Mo Willems themed storytime with stories, fingerplays, songs and movement activities joined by special guest Pigeon. 

For children of all ages with a parent or caregiver.

Celebrate the start to the Summer Lunch Program with special guest and library mascot Rover Reader! Learn about the five colorful food groups through stories, music, dancing, and a craft. Stay for a nutritious lunch, free for kids!

DO let the Pigeon sign up for the Summer Reading Program! Come for Pigeon stories, stay to take photos, and play a seek-and-find game around the library.

Stories, songs, rhymes and movement activities will help build a foundation for early literacy through print, letter recognition, word awareness and creativity. Children will be ready for future success in school with storytime fun!

Welcome the beginning of summer with a picnic with a classic stuffed animal.

Brown County Librarians and Barkhausen staff will host an interactive StoryWalk® experience! Enjoy both reading and the outdoors while following the pages of the StoryWalk® installed on panels along a park trail. Rain or shine.

The ADRC of Brown County will provide a meal from the Grounded Cafe to adults age 60+, as well as their spouse, regardless of age. All individuals under the age of 60 are welcome to join us for lunch at the full cost of $11.35.

All ages can get advice on growing and selecting blue ribbon-quality veggies, fruits and flowers — to enter in the Brown County Fair or to show off to family and friends.

Join featured artist Judy Parins as she paints on site at the library! Participants will observe Judy's art in action, learn about her journey as an artist, and be able to discuss her art on display.
