HOW TO WRITE A CREATIVE OBITUARY: Professional writer Mike Dauplaise will share tips and insights on how to compose an obituary for a loved one that goes beyond the standard biographical facts to truly capture their personality and unique impact on others. Using his own parents as examples, Mike will share the process he uses in his business, Creative Obituaries, and considerations such as writing one ahead of time and creating a lasting legacy.

11:00 - 11:45 am

A FULL YEAR & A DAY: Author Isak Dinesen wrote “All suffering is bearable if it is seen as part of a story.” The act of writing helped Pete Angilello resist the weight of grief after the suicide of his husband of 35 years. Pete will reprise his presentation as one of the Human Books featured at St. Norbert College last February, with visuals and readings that explore themes of emotional self-care, humility, giving and receiving, love and loss, self-compassion and connection to others. He will also discuss the process of developing his manuscript with his writing mentor/coach.

Attend one or both sessions.

Presented by UntitledTown, a program of the Friends of Brown County Library in partnership with Brown County Library .
