If you are considering saving seeds from your garden to plant next year or give away, experienced Master Gardeners will share things to know in advance:

  • Review the many benefits of saving your own seeds (cost, reliability, creating a family heirloom, more!)
  • Learn which types of plants have easy-to-collect seeds, which require different seed harvesting techniques, and which require isolation methods to prevent cross-pollination.
  • Get advice on the number of each plants you need, labeling, timing, spacing and more.
  • Pick up appropriate seeds from the Brown County Seed Library.
  • Find out about resources and upcoming sessions to learn about seed harvesting and saving, the 2025 One Seed One Community project, and how to become a Brown County Seed Steward.

Presented by Melissa Wass and Peggy Loritz, coordinators/trainers for the Brown County Seed Steward program of the Northeastern Wisconsin Master Gardeners.

This workshop is organized by the Brown County Seed Library partner organizations: Brown County Community Gardens Program; Brown County Library; Green Bay Botanical Garden; New Leaf Foods, Inc.; Northeastern Wisconsin Master Gardeners; UW-Green Bay; UW-Madison Extension Brown County.
