Program Description

Event Details

Wisconsin is connected to Niagara Falls as part of a 1,000+ mile long, international-scaled, geologic feature called the Niagara Escarpment, or as it’s known locally, “The Ledge”.

Learn about the Escarpment’s bedrock geology, how glaciers modified it, and how this geology interacts with groundwater to create some of the most unique habitats in the world.  A brief tour of the Escarpment’s 230 mile-long Northeast Wisconsin corridor will reveal some of its most publicly accessible sites that show off the natural and cultural diversity of The Ledge.

Presented by Eric Fowle, co-founder and board member of the Niagara Escarpment Resource Network and the Lakeshore Natural Resource Partnership.
