This event is the keynote presentation featured at the Grand Opening for Brown County Job Center's new location inside the Brown County Central Library.

Take a close look at the forces that will shape Brown County’s workforce and available jobs in the next 5 to 15 years. Gratzia Villarroel will share the latest data on demographics, automation and education – and why local action is needed today.  While Wisconsin as a whole faces a shrinking working-age population and a projected labor shortfall by 2031, Brown County and Green Bay does have a fragile advantage with a younger and more diverse population—driven especially by Latino and immigrant families. Learn what kinds of community investments and collaboration are needed to avoid the same workforce crises already evident in other parts of the state and the country. How can we work together to build a resilient, inclusive economy and remain a great place to work, live and thrive?

Presented by Gratzia Villarroel, Ph.D., Envision Greater Green Bay Board member, scholar, and community leader. She was recently recognized as a Woman of Influence by Insight magazine and was presented with their Lifetime Achievement Award.
